OUTCOMES

  • 35 participants increased their awareness around sustainable food production while protecting their environment through a hands-on learning approach

  • The mural painted at the center of the village remains a reference point for community members and motivates them to keep to the agreements made during the project 

  • 40 youth participated in the final community event and gained knowledge about the impact that forest clearing has on biodiversity and human health, the climate, and the need for diversification of the food production system

  • Several weeks after the project finished, over 80% of participants maintained their commitment to environmental protection through improved household waste management and diversity of crops in their farms
