OUTCOMES

• 300 indirect participants were educated about and involved in new sustainable waste management actions.

• 100% of workshop participants increased their knowledge about the impacts of garbage in marine-coastal environments and especially about the separation of materials for recycling.

• Oved Arnoldo Cisneros Aldana School implemented a school-wide recycling program and incorporated environmental education in their curriculum.  

• The creative signs created during the workshop continue to be displayed prominently in the school to raise awareness among other students.

• Students participating in the workshop and the school teachers are committed to sharing what they learned with family and friends, and to promoting the practice of the 3Rs and the proper classification of the waste generated at the school, to prevent it from reaching the sea.
