Education is a powerful tool to further gender equality, fight poverty, and create resilience during times of societal conflict, including the climate crisis. If current trends continue, however, by 2025 climate change will prevent at least 12.5 million girls from completing their education each year. Through gender-equitable education, women and girls can shape the world according to their aspirations and create positive change that ripples throughout their communities.
